2017 Highlights

Light the Night — Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Since 2009, GENEWIZ's Cerissa Gallipoli, has been participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Light the Night Walk with a team of 30-40 GENEWIZ team members. The money raised from the walk funds research of blood cancer treatments such as targeted or immunotherapies. Every year, GENEWIZ team members hold a bake sale to support Cerissa’s walk. This year Team Cerissa was able to raise 126% of their goal.

"In 2009, I was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). My coworkers at GENEWIZ came up with the idea to create a team and walk in my honor. Finding out that my coworkers cared that much meant more to me than I can describe and played a big factor in my battle against cancer... With the generous support of my family, friends, and GENEWIZ, I am able to spread awareness, give back, and help bring hope to those who are still fighting."
- Cerissa Gallipoli

Hurricane Harvey Fundraiser

During the first week of September, GENEWIZ donated 1% of U.S. revenue from all the orders placed that week, as well as participated in a company match to equal all employee donations. Together with your help, GENEWIZ was able to assist millions of people impacted by the effects of Hurricane Harvey. The donations provided first aid, food, shelter, and relief to those in need.

St. Jude’s Cancer Connect Walk San Francisco

This past September, the San Francisco sales team participated in the St. Jude Cancer Connect Walk to end childhood cancer. Fundraisers like these help St. Jude raise enough money to provide free treatments for kids affected with cancer.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Boston

In October, the GENEWIZ Boston team volunteered at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Boston. This event honors and celebrates cancer survivors in the community by raising funds to help fight breast cancer, fund research, and educate women about the importance of early detection and prevention. Our team members in Boston showed their support for cancer survivors by running a water station for walkers.

United Way Season of Caring

Since 2013, GENEWIZ has partnered with United Way of Greater Union County (NJ) to make the holidays better and brighter for children and families in need. In 2017, we were able to sponsor 70 children and provide more than 150 gifts. Not only have we broken our own record, but we will also be making the largest company contribution to the United Way of Greater Union County.
