GeneGroup® is a simple, secure way to manage your lab group account, access data, and track spending. Designed for your convenience, GeneGroup also allows you to track Sanger sequencing projects, manage account users, view account history, and track the use, status, and balance of Purchase Orders (POs).

How to Set up Your GeneGroup Account

  • Login from the GENEWIZ homepage.
  • Click on the GeneGroup tab in the same row as the MY ORDERS tab.
  • Follow the step-by-step instructions to complete set-up.


Account Management

  • Add, modify, and remove shared payment methods, including convenient pre-payment options
  • Control individual group members’ payment method options
  • View account summary
  • Obtain account balance alerts

Member Management

  • Add and remove group members
  • Control end-user activity email alerts

Ordering and Results

  • Select shared payment methods for each order
  • View sequencing data. Applicable to lab managers and authorized group members only

Guidelines for GeneGroup® Setup

  • All lab members have the ability to set-up GeneGroup® accounts. 
    • Once activated, this person will be the Group Manager of the GeneGroup® account. 
    • For optimal use, it is strongly recommended that Lab Managers, or the person(s) responsible for lab spending and/or lab data management, serve as GeneGroup® Group Managers. 
  • GeneGroup® Group Managers will be able to invite appropriate lab members to be Group Members once their GeneGroup® account activation is complete. 
    • Group Members are typically any researcher that needs to share payment methods with other members of the group. 
  • Researchers at labs with an existing GeneGroup® account must contact the Group Manager in order to become a Group Member. 
    • Group Managers can invite new Group Members easily with the online group management function.

*Please note, it may take up to 24 hours to activate your GeneGroup® account. You will receive an email notification when your GeneGroup® account is active.
