Plasmid DNA Preparation services provide convenient options for researchers. GENEWIZ offers a full spectrum of Plasmid DNA Preparation services to help researchers save time and maximize resources.
| Prep Scale | Culture Volume | Typical Yield* |
|---|---|---|
| Mini | 4 mL | 10 µg |
| Midi | 100 mL | 100 µg |
| Maxi | 250 mL | 500 µg |
| Mega | 500 mL | 2 mg |
| Giga | 2.5 L | 10 mg |
*Actual yield will vary with the nature of the
plasmid, bacterial hosts, and other factors.
Mini-scale DNA preparations included with cloning and synthesis projects are typically 2-5 µg.
Starting material can be DNA (transformation charges apply), bacterial colony, or glycerol stock:
GENEWIZ provides DH5α and TOP10 as standard host strains for DNA preparations. The default host strain is DH5α. If your DNA requires special hosts, please provide the bacterial colony or glycerol stock as starting material.
How To Order
Place Plasmid DNA Preparation orders through your online account; click here to create an online account. Please include a printed copy of the order receipt with your sample submission.
Please ship DNA at room temperature. Bacterial colonies can be shipped on dry ice or at room temperature. Glycerol stock must be shipped on dry ice. Please contact us with any questions or for additional shipping instructions.
Caution: GENEWIZ does not receive samples on Saturdays. Please contact GENEWIZ Technical Support (1-877-436-3949) before shipping samples on a Friday.
Turnaround time for Plasmid DNA Preparation is 2-3 business days when starting from bacterial
colonies. Turnaround time for Plasmid DNA Preparation is 3-4 days when starting from plasmid DNA or glycerol stocks.
Please note: Additional time is required for large orders and optional services.
GENEWIZ Technical Support is available to discuss your project in detail and answer any questions you may have.
**GENEWIZ uses an endo-free kit in the Plasmid DNA Preparation. All
plastics/tubes used during the preparation are new and endotoxin free. GENEWIZ does
not quantify the endotoxin level in the final Plasmid DNA Preparation product.
